Net zero
Net zero refers to carbon neutrality - the reduction of net carbon dioxide emissions to 0. This can be done through the complete reduction of emissions or through 'carbon offsetting', the removal of emissions from the atmosphere. Offsetting effectively aims to neutralise emissions that have already been released, be it through carbon capture technologies or planting trees.
